    • Awesome and fun to drive, lot of compliments

It’s a great car, don’t believe in the last few reviews (all same date, same person) someone jealous posted them. I don’t know why the website didn’t delete yet. But anyways I own the car and all the parts are really easy to find, same engine of Honda Fit and many other parts are same, ( both have same dimensions btw) same suspension parts, all really cheap by the way. You can easily find engine and transmission for around ~$400. each. Because nobody buys, doesn’t break easily. For 130hp the car drives fast, beautiful interior and exterior I got compliments every day. Mine is a 2015 with CVT, around 33mpg city and 38 freeway, depending of the road I can get up to 41mpg.

    • Dependable and Very Fun to Drive

I drove a 2013 Honda CR-Z ex from 2016-2023. During that time, I put on over 200k miles (bought it used at 43k, at which time I was driving my father's 2011 CR-Z). I traveled to over 50 national parks, drove some of the best roads in the United States, delivered pizza and sandwiches as a college job, and didn't shy away from sport mode (and fast cornering). Through all of this, I only ever changed tires, brake pads, oil, transmission fluid, spark plugs, and a battery at 200k. Never was a service bill over $1000, and I frequently put some of the above off because of road trip plans or my limited college budget (11k+ mileage between service at times). Over the course of many road trips, I enjoyed agile driving on mountain roads without ever a thought of danger. Cornering in a CRZ is a treat for such an economy vehicle. A highway ride in the car is very enjoyable, and I have averaged over 45 mpg on some trips. I have fit tents, cots, 4 traveler's worth of goods for a 5 day trip (other two passengers on a motorcycle), a 65 inch TV, and a bike at various times in the roomy rear space. While I love the car, I am not blind to some downsides. Its low profile comes with disadvantages of being the perfect height get paint chips from stones or trash flying from other vehicle. It also makes some dirt roads a very concerning ride (despite doing quite well in 5+ inches of snow), and has taken a significant amount of damage from collisions with animals. My fog lights were nearly always smashed but still functional. Longer uphills in the mountains can be a struggle once the battery power gives out. I have been passed by many 18-wheelers but have also beat sports cars off the line at stoplights when the battery has been fully charged. As you can likely gather, I have an attachment to this car as my first, and it has never given me cause for concern. The limited electrics make it easy to diagnose and hear when something is wrong, and the fixes are always small, even for a non-car-educated cheap roadtripper. Sadly, CR-Z's are no longer made, but should you find yourself needing cheap vehicle and find one used, I cannot recommend it enough. I plan to continue to use my CR-Z well into the 300k's, but am unfortunately in the market for a new vehicle as an accident through no fault of my own has caused significant visual damage. The car is now a victim of it's lack of value/high mileage and the visual repairs exceed the KBB value, but it has been an excellent partner and will continue to be for less professional work.
